Obituary

Mr. Robert E. Salvato, a longtime resident of Medford, passed away at the Boston Medical Center on Wednesday, September 26, 2018. He was 68 years old.

Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on September 9, 1950, he was the beloved son of the late Anthony M. and Irene (Dombrowski) Salvato. Mr. Salvato was a US Navy Veteran. Bob loved the warm climates and lived most of his adult life in Longboat Key, Florida, where he was a long-time bartender for the former Colony Beach and Tennis Resort. Bob was a jack of all trades type, but his favorite role was as a bartender. He loved people and was a natural storyteller so it was a great choice for him. He had a larger-than-life personality and wherever Bob was, you can bet it was loud and there was laughter. He was a sports enthusiast and an avid fan of the New England Patriots and the New York Giants. He had a genuine passion for life and family, and he was a very devoted father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed.

In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his brothers, Anthony M. Salvato, Jr. and Charles Angelo Salvato. He is survived by his loving children: Robert A. and his wife Deborah J. Salvato of Billerica, and Lisa P. and her husband Mark Mcneilly of Clarksville, Tennessee; siblings: Penny McDermott of Reading, Kristine and her husband Joel Lobov of Hopkinton, Patricia Moore of Medford, Terry and her husband Jimmy Davis of Medford and Nina and her husband Brad Homola of Wilmington; grandchildren; Tristan, Morgan, Aidan, Jude, Ben and Jaxon, sisters-in-law; Lois Salvato and Susan Salvato, best friend; Thomas Tahmosh of Sarasota, Florida and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends..
