CHICOPEE ~ Robert F. “Bob” Majkowski, Sr., 77, of the Sandy Hill section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Friday, September 21, 2018. He passed into Eternal Life at his home surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Westfield on May 2, 1941, a beloved son of the late Walter J. and Bertha M. (Perry) Majkowski. He was raised and lived on Hampden Ponds in Westfield before moving to Holyoke where he lived for many years before moving to Chicopee in 1992. He served his country in the United States Coast Guard and attained the rank of Seaman Recruit. He was employed for over 25 years and retired as a foreman from the Holyoke Water Department where he served in their Union as a Past President. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and ice fishing with his family and many friends, camping in the Berkshires and was a proud member of the National Rifle Association. He was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. Most of all, he was a quiet man who enjoyed the simple things in life. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and his friends. He leaves his beloved wife and best friend, Audrey M. (Bruyette) Majkowski. They were married in Springfield on February 23, 1963 and were blessed with over 55 years of happiness together. Besides his wife, he leaves his five loving children, Tina M. Menard of Chicopee, Roberta M. Majkowski-Spaulding and her husband, Thomas Spaulding, of Chicopee, Robert F. Majkowski, Jr. and his wife, Kristine, of Morrisonville, NY, Bruce D. Majkowski of Springfield and Richard N. Majkowski and his wife, Phuong Phan, of Feeding Hills; his fourteen cherished grandchildren, Christopher and Matthew Menard, AudreyRose Majkowski, Philip Potter, Adam Majkowski and his wife, Jessica, Peter Majkowski and his wife, Brittany, Robert Majkowski, III and his wife, Heather, Amanda Daniels and her husband, Stephen, Alex Miller, Alyssa, Antonio and Adrian Meireles and Jarret and Alison Majkowski; his ten cherished great-grandchildren, Alena Majkowski, Nicole Potter, Camren and Natalie Majkowski, Adriana Pingree, Haley, Alexis and Lucas Majkowski, and Stephen and Miles Daniels; his three dear brothers, Francis Majkowski of West Springfield, Thomas Majkowski and his wife, Judith, of Chicopee, and Larry Majkowski and his wife, Sandy, of California; his dear sister, Lori Majkowski of Chicopee; his dear sister-in-law, Lynn Majkowski of Maryland; his dear brother-in-law, Robert Pepin of Florida; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and extended members of the Majkowski and Bruyette families. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his five dear siblings, Sonny, Ronald, Donna, Judy and Marylou. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His burial will be private at the convenience of his family. There are no visiting hours at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
