Jack Wayne Boyd of Ojai, California, passed away on September 24, 2018. Jack was born in Long Beach. California to Lillian and Verne Boyd on February 20, 1931. Jack graduated high school in San Bernardino and entered the Navy at age 18. At the end of the Korean War, he participated in more than one-hundred court-martials. After becoming a commissioned officer Jack served on four different combat ships; his favorite was ship's navigator. Following his career in the Navy, he worked in the San Diego Courthouse as Superior Court Clerk.
Jack was an avid genealogist, photographer and reader. He attended Ventura Jubilee Fellowship and enjoyed years of biblical research. He is survived by his wife, Elaine Mary of Ojai, California, four children, three step children, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A man of genuine kindness and loving spirit was what Jack brought into our family. His quiet nature and steadfast love will never be forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to Funeral Services to be held with Military Honors Friday October 19, 2018 at 1:30pm in Miramar National Cemetery 5795 Nobel Drive, San Diego. Arrangements are under the direction of the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, Ventura.
