Evelyn Marie Stevens entered into rest on September 9, 2018 at her daughter’s home in Prosser. She was born on September 27, 1944 in Spokane, Washington to Ralph and Henrietta “Hattie” (Faford) Mousseau. She graduated from high school in Boise Idaho in 1962. Evelyn met James L. Deaton at a hop ranch in Prosser and they were married on October 5, 1963 and raised five children together; Debora Deaton Nicholls (Mike), Laura Deaton Borden (Earl), James Deaton (Irma) , Jeanne Deaton Borden (Guy) and Julie Deaton Gradisher (Bruce). James passed away on March 2, 1991. She later married James L. Stevens, who passed away on February 18, 2004.
Evelyn worked as a Lab Technician for Twin City Foods and Seneca and later for Tree Top, from which she retired. She was a true American patriot and a full supporter of President Trump. She enjoyed bird watching, gardening, camping, hunting, fishing and doing crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed watching TV which included game shows, Big Bang Theory, Star Trek, SVU, Criminal Minds, Judge Judy and she was always up to date on the news.
Evelyn is survived by her five children; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; her sisters, Dorothy Broadie and Dianne Kossman; and her brother, Walter Mousseau.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two husbands, James L. Deaton and James L. Stevens.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Prosser Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 14 at Prosser Funeral Home with concluding services and burial to follow at the Prosser Cemetery.
