Obituary

Jacqueline Bernice West Manley was born in Woodlake, California October 12, 1937, lived in Ventura, California at the Lexington Assisted Living; she went to the Lord on September 8, 2018.
Jackie was the only child of Bernie and Edna West; she was raised in Pomona California and graduated from Pomona High School in 1955 and attended the University of Redlands. In 1956, Jackie met and married Barry Eugene Manley and they had four children. Shortly after they were married, the family moved to Michigan and later returned to California in 1978.
Jackie worked as a Human Resource Manager for several law firms in the Ventura, Oxnard and Santa Barbara area; in 2002, Jackie retired from Hatch & Parent of Santa Barbara California where she had worked for close to 20 years.
Jackie loved to travel and made numerous trips throughout the United States. As evidenced by many photos, Jackie's children and/or grandchildren were often her traveling companions. Upon her retirement, Jackie reconnected with her high school friends Mary Jane Davis and Duane Jones, who, along with Reba Shane, became her main traveling companions and participated with Jackie on many cruises organized by her Parkinson's support group.
Jackie is survived by her four children and their immediate families, Teri Suzuki, her husband Bob and their children Kayla and Michelle with her husband George and their daughter Marley; Barry Gene Manley, his children Jason, Sarah, Megan and Caitlin; Sherry Manley Dreher with her husband Rocky and their children Rene Lord and her son Brent Lord; Michael Scott Smentek and his wife Ashley and their sons Braydyn and Ethan; Sage, Brandon, and Brittany Dreher and Brittany's daughter Cali; and her youngest daughter, Cheryl and her son, Andrew Manley-Orm.
Family and friends are invited to funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 757 E. Main Street, Ventura, CA 93001. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's research.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Lexington Assisted Living staff for their excellent service and dedicated care giving and to the Vitas Hospice staff.
