Obituary

Susan L. Archuletta passed away at home in Camarillo after a brave battle with Pancreatic Cancer on the late evening of Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at the age of 57. She was born on December 9, 1960 in Santa Barbara, California to Joseph and Esther (Esquibel) Archuletta. She attended the University of California, Santa Barbara. Prior to marrying George, in April of 1993, Susan worked at California Retail Systems for many years. In 1995 the couple welcomed their daughter, Arielle. Her daughter remembers her as a strong mother who passionately encouraged her to pursue her goals as well as a woman who has and will continue to shape her into the person she is today and will be in the future.
Susan was a talented cook and gardener with an amazing artistic eye, and often hand made many of Arielle's beautiful costumes for school plays and Halloweens. She was a generous and witty individual who loved animals and who was passionate about her beliefs and values. After she was diagnosed in March 2018 and until her last days she refused to give up and remained positive. She was always optimistic and continually planning for the future with tasks and goals. She always had little projects in progress whether it be gardening, planning outings, or finding new recipes
Susan is survived by her daughter Arielle Williams, Mother Esther Archuletta, husband George Williams, brothers Larry and Gene Archuletta, Sisters in-law Nancy Archuletta, Rhonda Lohkamp, and Kimberly Williams, nephews Joseph and Ethan Archuletta, Brian Spradlin, Daniel Storberg, Ronald J Williams, Cameron and Christopher Lohkamp, and nieces Isabella Archuletta, Katharine Ratzlaff, Faith Williams, and Carolyn Lohkamp, brothers in-law Dennis Williams and Gregory Lohkamp, and mother in law Mary Katharine Williams. She is preceded in death by her father, Joseph Archuletta, and father in law Ronald Williams.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Susan's life at a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated by Father Leon Hutton on Friday September 14, 2018 at 5pm in Our Lady of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Ventura. A reception will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, Ventura. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at www.pancan.org. The family would like to thank Dr. Samuel Slomowitz, Dr. David D Chi, and the rest of the doctors and staff for their dedication, care, and efforts.
