CHICOPEE – Kevin Thomas Sullivan, 71, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, August 21, 2018. He entered into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by all the memories that he loved and cherished. He was born in Holyoke on February 11, 1947, the beloved son of the late Thomas M. and Rita (Fortier) Sullivan. He was raised in Holyoke until the age of nine and moved with his family to Chicopee where he lived the remainder of his life. He was a graduate of Cathedral High School and attended Western New England College, both in Springfield.
He had worked for many years as a manager with Friendly’s Restaurants in the surrounding area. He later owned and operated Sullivan Photography in Chicopee for almost 20 years. Kevin was an excellent photographer and in 1989 was inducted into the Photograph Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City, OK for his general photographic style. He was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee. Above all, Kevin enjoyed spending time with his family, his many friends and his fellow photographers. In addition to his beloved parents, Kevin was predeceased by his loving fiancée and best friend, Ann Marie Keefe who was Called Home on March 11, 2016. Kevin leaves his many dear cousins, including his cousin, Maureen Catalucci and her husband, Ronald, of Holyoke, his extended members of the Sullivan and Fortier families, and his many dear friends including his dear friend and caregiver, June E. Babbidge of Chicopee. He also leaves his caring adopted feline friends and companions, his cats, Yoshi, Sy and Shadow. His funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (the funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His Burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, August 27, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The parking lot is located in the rear of the funeral home.
