Shirley Beard Whiddon, 75, of Tifton passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at her residence.
Shirley was born in Turner County on December 2, 1942 to the late George Dewey and Mozella Americas Poore Beard. She was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church in Sycamore. She was also retired from Colony Bank. She is survived by her children, Theresa (Mark) Norman of Tifton and Tony Whiddon of Kennesaw; sister, Ruth B. Youngblood of Ashburn; step-children, Glenda (Ken) Adams of Sylvester, Gary (Sherry) Whiddon of Ashburn, Garland (Kathy) Whiddon of Douglas and George Whiddon of Ashburn; grandchildren, Angela Whiddon, Charlie Whiddon, Zack Norman, Erin (Jamie) Harrison, Haley (Martin) Coalson, Dawn (Chris) Floyd, Keri (Bryan) Altman, Shane (Ashley) Whiddon, Susan (Ricky) Wilkerson, Julie Kress, David (Claire) Whiddon, Jason (Kayla) Whiddon and Benjy Whiddon. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren , nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lamar Whiddon and her siblings, Josie Peacock, Joyce Sherrer, Dewey Beard, Curtis Beard, Obie Beard, Ottis Beard, Donald Beard and Grady "Bo" Beard. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Bethel Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the church. | ||||
