LUDLOW ~ Jeannette A. (Thibault) Morency, 86, of Ludlow and a former resident of Dwight Street and Mayfair Avenue in Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, July 26, 2018. She passed into Eternal Life at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in New Britain, Connecticut on January 23, 1932, a beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Adeline (Roy) Thibault. Her early years were spent in New Britain before her family moved to Springfield. She graduated from the former Saint Thomas Aquinas School in Springfield and later graduated from Saint Anne Academy in Marlborough, Massachusetts. She was a housekeeper for many years at the former Saint Thomas Aquinas Rectory in Springfield and later at Saint John the Baptist Rectory in Ludlow. She was a communicant of the former Saint Thomas Aquinas Church where she also was a member and Treasurer of the Les Dames de Sainte Anne Sodality. She currently was a communicant of The Catholic Community of Saint Elizabeth at Saint John the Baptist Church in Ludlow. She enjoyed knitting and embroidery and could often be found reading a good novel, working on puzzles, watching the Hallmark Channel and going to flea markets and thrift stores. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who showered her family with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Laurent O. Morency who was Called Home on August 22, 1996. They were married on August 16, 1952 at Saint Thomas Aquinas Church in Springfield and were blessed with over 44 years of happiness together. She leaves her four loving children, Diane M. Vacon and her husband, Donald, Denise M. Bertoncelli and her husband, Michael, Suzette M. Grych and her husband, Mark, and Ronald G. Morency and his partner, Sally Badillo; her five cherished grandchildren, Carrie Vacon, Anthony Bertoncelli and his wife, Christine, Nicholas Bertoncelli and his partner, Amanda, Matthew Grych and Kristine Grych; her three cherished great-grandchildren, Vinny, Dallas and Kylie; her three brothers, Gerard Thibault and his wife, Ginette, Roland Thibault and his wife, Marylou, and Norman Thibault and his wife, Rena; her sister-in-law, Dorothy Thibault; her best friend and cousin, Beatrice Turcotte; her nurse and dear friend, Marissa Zulch; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Morency and Thibault families. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her sister, Emma Thibault; and her brother, Roger Thibault. Her Funeral will be held on Friday morning, August 3, 2018 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107, (funeral home will open at 8 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at The Catholic Community of Saint Elizabeth at Saint John the Baptist Church, 191 Hubbard Street, Ludlow, MA 01056. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, August 2, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. For those who prefer, her family requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to Saint Elizabeth Parish, 181 Hubbard Street, Ludlow, MA 01056.
