Hudson, NH - Erin Louise Sibley, 36, of Hudson, New Hampshire, died of complications from metastatic breast cancer on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. In the time between her diagnosis and her passing, she received amazing care from the wonderful oncology doctors and nurses at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, which allowed her as much time as possible to spend with those she loved. The family expresses our gratitude to Dr. Nathenson, nurses Kerry, Kim, Melissa, and numerous others. All were special to Erin and to the family.
Erin was born in Nashua, New Hampshire, on June 12th, 1982. Although she was the youngest of three siblings we always felt she was a "little big sister," nurturing and protective of her older brother and sister throughout her entire life. She had many nicknames, including Erinoka, Noka, Wookie, Birdbelly, Kiddo, Tyke, Big E, Nokes, Mama Shanks, Angel (her father's personal favorite), and her newest and most personally beloved nickname of all, "Auntie." She was a radiantly beautiful, kind and funny person, devoted to her family and friends, compassionate about civil rights and the environment, a lover of animals (particularly elephants) and an avid sports fan, most importantly a lifelong fan of UNH Hockey. As sweet natured as she was she was still incredibly brave and strong-willed, attributes which helped her endure multiple operations and months of treatment while never losing her brightness and joy.
She was an employee of Reliable-IT of Woburn, Mass, and made many enduring friendships among her coworkers, something she managed to do with people she met from virtually every stage of her life. The kindnesses and generosities of her employer Reliable-IT helped her receive life extending medical treatment and support when she needed it most.
She was predeceased by her grandparents, Freeland and Jeraldine Washburn; and two first cousins, Renee and Nikki.
She is survived by her parents, Leslie and Jennifer Sibley; her grandparents, Lauris and Vivian Sibley; her brother and sister-in-law, Ryan Sibley and Laura Sibley; her adored nephew, Matthew Sibley; her sister and brother-in-law, Leisha Bass (née Sibley) and Jason Bass; her devoted partner, Jason Kravitz; her aunts, Tonya Martin and Thala Bard, her uncles, Clifford Sibley and Tim Washburn and Harry Washburn; and her first cousins, Shane, Shannon, LeeAnn, Chris, Terin, Mike, Amy, Stephen, David, Andrew, Jason, Stephanie, Jessica, and Caleb; as well as numerous relatives, and many very good friends and neighbors.
In lieu of flowers Erin asked that donations be made in her name to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute or to the Alzheimer's Association.
Private celebrations are planned in Hudson, New Hampshire, and Enfield, Maine, to honor her life.
