CHICOPEE – Nancy C. (Sycz) Desautels, 74, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, July 19, 2018. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving husband, Jim. She was born in Hartford, Connecticut on September 23, 1943, a beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Paszek) Sycz. She was raised in Hartford and East Hartford and moved to Chicopee around 1968. She furthered her education and graduated from the former Dean Vocational School in Holyoke and later worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the former Holyoke Hospital. She was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Aldenville and a member of the Pioneer Valley Chapter 8 of The North American Family Campers Association. She leaves her beloved husband, James J. Desautels. They were married on July 11, 1964 at Saint Cyril Methodius Church in Hartford and were blessed with 54 years of happiness together. Her Funeral will be held on Wednesday morning, July 25, 2018 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, 1 Cottage Grove Road, Bloomfield, CT 06002. Her husband will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. before the Mass. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
