Obituary


Worcester: Gediminas "Gedi" J. Stumbras, 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 14, 2018 in Oakdale Nursing Home surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his wife Mary Jane (Mischitelli) Stumbras and his grandson Akeem Ceffalo, whom he raised since age 3; a son- Renato Stumbras of Westminster; 2 daughters- Danute Marcella Swan and her husband Robert of Paxton and Irena Stumbras of Worcester; a stepson Mark Ceffalo and his wife Liz; a stepdaughter Maria Blatz and her husband Joseph; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; a sister- Janina Sussnys of FL' and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Regina Penaloza and by his stepdaughter Michele Ceffalo.

Gedi was born in Lithuania, son of the late Kostas and Ona Stumbras. He graduated from High School and came to America in 1966. He worked for many years as a mechanic for Warner and Swasey Company. He was a member of St. Christopher's Church and the Lithuanian Club and enjoyed traveling, fishing, and going to the beach.

A calling hour will be held on Friday, July 20, 2018 from 1-2 p.m. in Nordgren Funeral Home 300 Lincoln St. Worcester. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gedi's memory may be made to the Franciscan Monastery 28 Beach Ave. Kennebunk, ME 04043.
