Obituary

Worcester- Ralph P. Nigosian, 96, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Knollwood Nursing Center surrounded by his loving family. He leaves a son Paul M. Nigosian of Millbury; a daughter Karen R. and her husband Azad Chaparian of Shrewsbury; three grandchildren Stephanie Chaparian and her fiancé Neil Costello of Plymouth, MA, Daniel Chaparian and his wife Elsa Marvel of San Francisco, CA, and Kyle Nigosian. He is predeceased by his wife of 67 years Alice (Mshooshian) Nigosian and a sister Grace Bedigian.

Ralph was born in Worcester, son of Paul and Azniv Nigosian. He graduated from South High School and attended Northeastern University. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII on the USS Yosemite and worked as a toolmaker for General Machine and Tool Co. He then worked as a sales representative for Bay State Tobacco Co for over 30 years. He was a member of and a Sunday School teacher at the Armenian Church of Our Saviour, a founding member of The Armenian American Veterans, AVAKS, and the church's men's club. Ralph was a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason raised in the Athelstan Lodge, a Shriner, a member of the Melha Temple, and a member of Legion of Honor.

The family would like to thank the staff at Briarwood Assisted Living and Knollwood Nursing Center for their excellent and compassionate care.

Services will be held at the Armenian Church of Our Saviour on Wednesday, July 18, 2018. A calling hour will be held at church from 10-11am followed by the funeral service at 11am. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury St. Worcester, MA 01609.
