Hazel Louise Bianchi

Hazel Louise Bianchi, 77, of Prosser, entered into rest on July 5, 2018 at Chaplaincy Hospice Care in Kennewick. She was born on September 10, 1940 in Olympia, Washington to William Martin and Sarah Ellen (Langley) Mathews. In 1948, the family moved to Grandview where she was raised and educated. Hazel married Tom Charles Bianchi on February 1, 1958 in Grandview. The couple moved to Seattle in 1961 where they lived until making Prosser their home in 1975.

Hazel was a devoted member of the Prosser VFW Auxiliary. She loved fly fishing and accompanying her husband to team roping events and caring for the horses. She also enjoyed gardening, especially flowers. Most of all she loved being a homemaker, taking care of her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Hazel is survived by her children, Cindy Merlino (Mark) of Elma, Monte Bianchi (Caela) of Moxee, Roy Bianchi (Teresa) of Wenatchee and Peggy Bianchi of Prosser; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Arlena Stoik (Bob) of Inverness, Florida and Ines Wilson of Richland; and extended family, Sherry (Tom) Ballantyne of Lynnwood and David (Anita) Emery of Selah. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tom Charles Bianchi on January 9, 2017; and her son, Thomas D. Bianchi on September 18, 2017.

A Memorial Service will be held at from 4:00 to 6:00 PM on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Prosser Post. Memorial contributions may be made to the Prosser VFW. You may leave a message for the family at www.Prosserfuneralhome.com
