Angelina Belezos

Angelina Belezos passed away peacefully on July 5, 2018. Born and raised in Jamaica Plain, Angelina attended Bryant and Stratton College in Boston and worked for many years as a comptroller for O'Brien Distributors and Bendon Gear and Machine. Angelina was the loving daughter of the late George and Mersini Belezos, sister of the late S. George Belezos and Caliope M. Belezos, dear cousin of the late S. John Stratis and Aspasia Stratis. She is survived by her sister-in-law Loula Belezos of Canton, cousin-in-law Bertie Stratis of Hingham, cousins George Belezos of Gloucester and Angie Zogas of Worcester, Thomas Belezos of California and many cherished nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews.
Angelina had a zest for life and a wide variety of interests. She was a lifelong supporter of the Appalachian Mountain Club, the Audubon Society, the Museum of Fine Arts and Museum of Science Boston, generously enriching the lives and experiences of her many nieces and nephews through countless exhibits, shows, tours, trips, and adventures. She loved being with her nieces and nephews and took a keen interest in each of them individually. Angelina was a lover of horticulture and was a frequent visitor to Boston Flower Show and botanical gardens around the world. She had a wonderful memory for the names of local flora and fauna. Angelina was a traveler at heart and visited Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Russia, Greece as well as crisscrossing North America, from Mexico to Alaska sharing her experiences with all through her many photographs. Angelina had an active and adventurous spirit. She was an avid skier in her youth and was always ready for a swim in the invigorating waters of Nantasket beach, enthusiastically jumping the biggest waves with her nieces, nephews and later their children. She was also a lover of poetry and literature yet would wholeheartedly enjoy a rousing Army/Navy football game. Angelina touched many lives in her 99 years and will be sadly missed by her family.
Visitation will be held from 12-1PM in the Annunciation Cathedral Chapel, 162 Goddard Ave, Brookline, on Monday, July 9th, followed by a Funeral Service at 1PM. Relatives and friends e respectfully invited to attend. Interment Forest Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Angelina’s memory can be made to the Museum of Science, 1 Science Park, Boston, MA 02114.
