Obituary

Boylston: Dr. Lillian A. Luksis, 94, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at home. She leaves her great nieces and great nephews Bonnie L. Akerman and her husband James E. Akerman Sr. of Newport, New Hampshire; David Cobb of Marlborough; Raymond Cobb of Charleston, SC; Susan Cobb of Marlborough; Wendy Cobb of Marlborough; Paul A. Pouliot and his wife Olivia of Millbury; and Jason Rose of Statesville, NC. Also surviving are great great nieces and nephews James E. Akerman, Jr., Hailey L Akerman, Amy Hurst, Coady Cobb, Miranda Cobb, Nicolas Cobb, Ariel Rose and Joshua Tolson; great great great nephews, Ashton Cobb and Jaxton White; and Danny Rose, husband of her late niece, Judy. She was predeceased by her sister Ruth Whites, nieces, Sandra Cobb, Linda Pouliot and Judy Rose, and a great nephew, Andrew Rose.
 
Lillian was born October 2, 1923, in Worcester, daughter of the late Adam and Rose (Babbitt) Luksis. She graduated from Commerce High School class of 1941, Clark University, class of 1944, and Boston University Medical School in 1949. She worked as a Radiologist for many years and was a partner in the Radiology Clinic serving Worcester County Hospitals. She was a member of St. Mary of the Hills Church in Boylston, the Worcester Medical Society, the Massachusetts Medical Society, the American Radiological Society, and the Boylston Senior Citizens Society. Lillian’s hobbies included painting, gardening and reading. She loved her family dearly.
 
A calling hour will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 9:30-10:15 a.m. in Nordgren Funeral Home 300 Lincoln St Worcester. A funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary of the Hills Church in Boylston. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Boylston. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lillian's name may be made to the Boylston Public Library, 695 Main Street, Boylston, MA or St. Mary of the Hills Church, 630 Cross Street, Boylston, MA.
