Obituary

Grace A. Remillard, 97, formerly of Privilege St. Woonsocket died Tuesday July 3, 2018 at St. Antoine Residence. She was the loving wife of the late Aldor Remillard. They were married in 1946 and shared over 46 years together until his passing in 1992.
Born in North Attleboro she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Albertine (Joinville) Poirier. She resided in Woonsocket and Bellingham for most of her life and spent several years living in Florida.
Mrs. Remillard was employed in the local textile industry at the French Worsted and Honora Lippitt mills and also at the Rathbun Outlet for many years before retiring in 1983. She was a member of the Waterview Tenants Association.
Grace was an avid card player and an accomplished artist. She was a staunch New England sports fan and especially rooted for the Red Sox and Bruins.
Grace was a friendly, outgoing and independent woman who drove her car well into her nineties. She had a cheerful outlook on life and will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother.
She is survived by two sons Paul E. Remillard and his wife Jeannette of Port Charlotte, FL and Leo A. Remillard and his wife Paulette of Brooklyn, CT., a grandson Paul E. Remillard Jr. and his wife Amanda of Millville. She was the sister of the late Edgar and Arthur Poirier and Sr. Lina Poirier, SSA, Evelyn Longpre, Irene Lamothe and Rita Trahan. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 11:00 am in St. Antoine Chapel 10 Rhodes Ave. North Smithfield. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Friday from 5-7 pm in the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that Masses be offered for Grace.
