LEBLANC, Valerie E. (Allen), of Winthrop, passed away on July 1, 2018. She was 78 years old. Proceeded in death by her husband Richard LeBlanc and former husband and father of her children, John P. “Jackie” Roberts. Devoted mother of Donna M. Roberts of Medford and Denise M. (Roberts) O’Connell of Winthrop. Adored grandmother of Shelagh O’Connell, Sean O’Connell Jr. and Shannon O’Connell. Born in Winthrop, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Kathryn (Barrett) Allen. Dear sister of Cynthia K. O’Connell and her late husband Kenneth of Winthrop, Charlene J. Murphy and her late husband Tom of Winthrop, Douglas Allen and his wife Shirley of San Diego, CA. and Barry Allen of Winthrop. Special sister of Jeanette Roberts and her husband Billy of Salem, NH. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home 210 Winthrop St. Winthrop, on Saturday, July 7, at 10:30am. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. John the Evangelist Church-Winthrop at 11:30am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Cremation to follow will be private. Valerie was the food service manager for the Cummings Middle School in Winthrop until her retirement. She was also a member of the Winthrop Lodge of Elks #1078 and enjoyed bowling on Monday nights with the Elks Ladies Bowling League.
