BELCHERTOWN ~ Milena (Nenadic) Pelemis, 85, of Belchertown, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, July 1, 2018. She passed into Eternal Life at home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in the Village of Rudopolje, Croatia on November 17, 1932, a beloved daughter of the late Mile and Anka (Boric) Nenadic. She was raised and educated in Rudopolje. Following her marriage to her beloved husband Jovan, they settled in the city of Tuzla, Bosnia. She and her family resided there for many years until they immigrated to the United States in 1996. She settled in Minnesota and later moved to New York before moving to Belchertown in 2005. She was a member of Saint Peter and Saint Paul Orthodox Church in Springfield. Milena had a passion for gardening. She loved planting flowers and vegetables and had worked in her gardens up until her illness. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who showered her family with her love and affection that was returned to her a thousand fold. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Jovan Pelemis who was Called Home on August 2, 1995. She leaves her loving daughter and son-in-law, Snezana Lelic-Pelemis and her husband, Izudin Lelic; her two cherished grandchildren, Nina Lelic and her fiancé, David Miller, and Dennis Lelic; her two dear sisters, Danica Zoric of Serbia and Milica Rapaic of Croatia; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Pelemis and Nenadic families. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her dear brother, Mihajlo Nenadic. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Saint Peter and Saint Paul Orthodox Church, 118 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104. Her Burial will follow the Funeral Service at Oak Grove Cemetery, 426 Bay Street, Springfield, MA 01104. At Milena’s request, there are no visiting hours.
