WESTPORT – Dorothy Borges, age 96, of Somerset, passed away on June 19, 2018 peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Gilbert C. Borges. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Christopher and Maria (Carvalho) Tavares. Dorothy was a business owner in the garment industry her whole life. She retired as the owner of Vanessa Mfg. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Dorothy is survived by her children Gail Amaral, (Allan) of Westport and Guy Borges of Somerset; grandchildren Joshua Amaral (Beth), Jay Amaral (Katie), Lisa Riley (Mike), Victoria Mills, Trevor, Chad and John Borges; great-grandchildren Alexia, Addison, Savannah, Landon, Bella & Riley Amaral, April Riley and Noah Mills; sister Irene Martin, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by many siblings.
The family would like to thank her caregiver Deb Luiz, for her care and compassion for many years.
