Obituary

Eddie Richard Davis, Jr. born in Boston MA on August 18, 1949. He was the son of the late Eddie R. Davis, Sr. and Mildred Folds. Eddie was educated in the Boston Public School System. Upon graduating Eddie enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and graduated from Camp Lejeune. He served four years in the Vietnam War as a Lance Corporal.
Upon his return from active duty Eddie took the civil service exam and accepted the position of a Boston Firefighter. After sustaining an injury while performing his firefighter duties, Eddie took a medical leave from the Fire Department. For many years Eddie worked as a mentor, head cook and a member of the choir at the Teen Challenge Program in Brockton, MA where he became known as Pops.
Under the leadership of Bishop George Swain of Greater Victory Temple of Boston, MA Eddie was baptized. He later joined New Life Christian Ministries of Brockton, MA under the auspicious of Dr. Orlando Harris and was blessed to become a deacon of the church and continued his love for cooking as head cook.
Eddie transitioned peacefully on May 16, 2018 at the Seasons Hospice in Milton, MA.
Presiding him in death, his brother Jonny Davis. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Paula Davis, son Lamont Davis, step-son Stevan Davis, one sister Ella Swain and her husband Bishop George Swain, two granddaughters, (Stacy and Nyeilla), and two great grandsons, (Tre and Riley), mother-in-law, Barbara Jackson-Shepherd, a dear friend Yolanda, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other friends.
