Susan (Hicks) Hallenbrook, born February 2nd, 1945 to her loving parents Stephen 'Wes' and Pearl Mae (Woodman) Hicks. Sue had lived in New York City, NY, Pittsfield, NH, and Lubec, ME - but always found her way back to her true home in Medford, MA.
She was a passionate artist and designer working in fashion design most of her life, from ladies lingerie, evening gowns, children's play costumes, even Naval uniforms saw her touch.
A loving and caring person, Susan often opened her home to others in need of a friend. Susan Hicks Hallenbrook could claim many titles, she was many things to many people. Artist, fashion designer, dragon slayer, sailor, fixer of boo-boos, motorcycle rider, godmother, teacher, cake decorator, dollhouse aficionado, monster hunter, shaving coach, seamstress, mentor, pilot, conservationist, collector of things and people, sister, shoulder to cry on, lender of ears, part time fortune teller, business owner, sports car driver, auntie, Cub Scout leader, world traveler, antiques expert, teddy bear physician, interior decorator, unicorn wrangler, cousin, florist, adventurer, curator of made up swear words, driving instructor, amateur psychologist, professional story teller, amazing daughter. A character, an inspiration, Mother.
Sue is survived by her dear son, Douglas Hallenbrook, her brother John Hicks, godson David Foley, godchildren Harold, Mary, Donald, and John McKinnon and countless others who she considered family.
Visitation will be held in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Thursday, June 7, 2018, from 5 to 7 PM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Her funeral service will be celebrated in the funeral home at 7 PM.
