SOMERSET - Josephine (Prato) Correia, age 83, of Somerset, passed away on Monday June 4, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Robert Correia and daughter of the late Constantino and Phyllis (Giacobbe) Prato. Josephine was an accordion teacher for Imbriglio Accordion Studio as well as a secretary for Somerset School Department. She was a former member of the Board of Directors of the Fall River Symphony, Somerset Friends of Music, Diocesan Pastoral Council, and former teacher for St. John of God Grade 10 Confirmation Program. Josephine was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, St. John of God Scholarship Committee, a recipient of the Marian Medal in 2016, and an avid bowler and in the Somerset Bocce League.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children; Robert S. Correia (wife Karen) of NH, Janice M. Dorazio (husband Richard) of CT, Richard Correia (wife Susan) of NH, Russell J. Correia (wife Dianne) of CT, sister; Mary Ann Palumbo, grandchildren; Kevin, Carolyn, Kristen, Alexandrea, Kathleen, Matthew, Anna, Stephanie, and Megan, great grandchildren; Kaylee, Lucas, Jocelyn, Godchild Christine Schromm, and several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Tuesday here at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John of God Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Somerset.
