Worcester: John Budzinski , 71, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, surrounded by his loving family after an illness. He leaves a former wife Patricia Mahan; a son Brian Budzinski and his wife Elizabeth of Sutton; a daughter- Jill Colby and her husband John of Candia, NH; a sister- Carole Dimmick and her husband Howard of Fort Collins, CO; four grandchildren- Jack, Jameson, Joseph, and Ella; and a close family friend and caregiver Suzanne Joseph. He was predeceased by a nephew Eric Dimmick.
John was born in Worcester, son of Albert and Claire (Robidas) Budzinski. He graduated from Saint Peter's High School where he made All City Football. He graduated from Worcester Industrial Technical Institute and attended Worcester Junior College. Mr. Budzinski was a Worcester Police Officer for 30 years and best known for his Cost of Crime Program in Worcester's High Schools as well as security programs for area businesses. After retiring, he worked for Charles River Laboratories for 10 years with Corporate Security Operations. He was a member of the MA Police Association, The International Brotherhood of Police Officers, The Worcester Retired Police and Firefighters Association, The Worcester Rifle and Pistol Club, and a lifetime member of the YMCA. He enjoyed his early morning half mile swims and his 2 mile walks at Quinsigamond track. He enjoyed collecting antiques and attended all three shows at Brimfield.
