Manuela M. Houtman of Canton formerly of Portugal died at her home May 28,2018. Born and raised in Portugal where she earned her Masters degree in education. She taught in the Portugal public school system teaching kindergarten and High School before moving to the United States where she taught in the New Bedford School system and the Dept of Mental Health. Manuela was a kind and gentle woman who loved nature. She was the loving mother of Olga A. Amaral and her husband Jorge of Portugal and Joana A. Amaral-Cuevas and her husband Carlos of Canton and cherished grandmother of Martim, Carter and Alani. Funeral services will be held at a later date in Portugal.
