Janice Ann Kline, age 77, entered into rest on May 14, 2018 at her home in Prosser. She was born on March 28, 1941 to Harry and Mildred (Kelley) Scrimsher in Pasco, Washington. She was raised and educated in Pasco and Prosser and graduated from Davis High School in Yakima. After graduation, she enlisted in the US Army and served from 1961-1964. While in the Army, she met her future husband, Harold Franklin Kline. The couple married on November 7, 1964 in Monterey, California and they had two children. Harold died in action in Vietnam on August 24, 1968. After her husband’s death, Janice lived with her sister, Nancy, in Auburn, Washington before making her home in Prosser in 1972. She attended beauty school in Sunnyside and later went to work for the Prosser School District as a cook until retiring after twenty-five years.

Janice enjoyed cooking, bowling and working in her yard. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She never knew a stranger, was a loyal and generous friend and looked after her neighbors. She was a Gold Star Mother and a member of Jr. Women’s Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; her parents; two brothers, Ronald and Fred Scrimsher; and sister, Sheila Emerson.

A Memorial Service with Full Military Honors was held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at her home in Prosser. Memorials contributions may be made to Heartlinks Hospice. You may leave a message for the family at www.prosserfuneralhome.com
