Antone J. Lopes, 84 of Taunton passed away Monday, May 14, 2018 at Morton Hospital. He was the husband of Helen L. (Correia) Lopes and was husband of the late Lucille (Rego) Lopes.
Born in Dartmouth, he was son of the late Antone J. Lopes, Jr. and the late Edna (Medeiros) Lopes. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served his country in the United States Army. He was a Communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport. Mr. Lopes was a life member of the Holy Ghost Club, Westport. He was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots and he enjoyed gardening.
Including his wife, survivors include 3 sons: Christopher Lopes of CO, Louie Carvalho of Fall River and Steven Cook of Taunton; 3 Daughters: Nancy Lopes of Westport, Lisa Lopes of Fall River and Cindy Lopes of Westport; a brother: Frank Lopes of Fall River; 2 sisters: Mary Wetherell of Westport and Genevie Ksen of Fall River; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was grandfather of the late Brittany Pacheco and brother of the late George Lopes.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, May 19, 2018 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport at 10 AM.
Calling hours Friday 5 - 8 PM.
Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Westport.
