Funeral services for James Daniel “Boone” Smith, 24, will be held Friday, May 18, 2018 at 10:00 AM in The Ashburn First Baptist Church. Mr. Smith passed away Monday, May 14 at Tift Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn.
Daniel was the son of James Ernest Smith of Ashburn and the late Sheri Black Smith. Daniel was born in Tifton, GA and lived in Ashburn all his life. He was a member of Journey Church of Tifton. He loved baseball especially The Atlanta Braves and was a former baseball player for The Turner County Rebels. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his uncle Jamie Black and his grandparents, William R. and Claudette Smith. Survivors include his father and his father’s Fiancé, James Ernest Smith and Trudy Sawyer; his grandparents, James L. and Peggy B. Black, his brothers Richard Andrew Smith and Peter Warren Smith all of Ashburn and Nate Sawyer of Tifton. He is also survived by several Aunts, Uncles and cousins. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 at Perry Funeral Chapel. | ||||
