Obituary

Edward O. Hall, age 91 passed away at his home on Saturday, May 5, 2018 of natural causes. He was the devoted husband for 54 years of the late Lillian (Deane) Hall. Ed was born and raised in Taunton, the son of the late Alton Bowen Hall and Lena (Daigle) McLeer. He had been a resident of Raynham for the last 16 years.

At the time of his death Ed was a member of the VFW and DAV in Taunton. He was also a member of the Order of the Cooties. He had been retired from the Army for 47 years. He was a Sargent SFC for 27 years. Ed was a Veteran of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He did two tours in Vietnam. His Army career started right after high school. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps Reserve training and in 1945 went into active duty in the Army. He loved volunteering for Veteran organizations. He gave countless hours and helped a lot of Veterans get their benefits.

Ed loved to read, collect stamps, complete crossword puzzles and bowl on a league. He and his companion, Anne Ramsey enjoyed traveling and taking rides to the Cape and spending time with her large family.

He is survived by his four children, Steven Hall of Brockton, Charles Wright and his wife Elaine of North Carolina, Minnie Tanguay of Brockton and Deborah Roper of Halifax Canada; his grandchildren, Steven, Michael, Jonathan, Roberta, Jason, Heather, Adam, Stanley, Jean Marie, Stephen, Lindsay, Angelique, Thunder and Jasmine and his 22 great grandchildren. He also leaves his brother Robert Hall of Marlborough.

A Memorial Service to honor Ed will be held on Monday, May 14, 2018 at the DAV Chapter 57, 5-7 Taunton Green, Taunton from 9:00AM to 10:30AM. Burial will be in the MA National Cemetery, Connery Ave, Bourne at 12:30 pm. The cemetery is approximately 5 miles south of the Bourne Bridge-off Rte. 28 adjacent to the Massachusetts Military Reservation. All are welcome to attend.
