CHICOPEE ~ Jeanne F. (Fleury) Fontaine, 77, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, April 21, 2018. She passed into Eternal Life at home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born on May 29, 1940 at home on Grattan Street in the Aldenville section of Chicopee, the beloved daughter of the late Noel L. and Juliette A. (Thibeault) Fleury. She was raised in Chicopee, attended Chicopee and Holyoke schools and was a lifelong resident of the city. She was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee. An avid pianist, Jeanne loved playing and teaching her grandchildren. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother and memére who showered her family with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She leaves her beloved husband and best friend, Roger C. Fontaine. They were married on June 8, 1957 at Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee and were blessed with over 60 years of happiness together. She also leaves her four loving children, Shirley J. Burton and her husband, Wayne, of Chicopee, Steven W. Fontaine and his partner, Paulo Aguiar, of Lilburn, GA, and Keith R. Fontaine and his wife, Chris, and Kathy A. Cote and her husband, Richard, all of Chicopee; her five cherished grandchildren, Andrew Cassidy and his fiancée, Rose Feldman, Scott Fontaine and his wife, Jess, Curtis Cote, Shaina Merrick and Taylor Fontaine; her two cherished step grandchildren, Nina and Wade Leclerc; her six cherished great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Patience, Gabriel, Brandon, Julia and Josh; her dear brother, Francis N. Fleury and his wife, Frances, of Chicopee; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Fontaine and Fleury families. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. There are no visiting hours at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
