Worcester: F. Patricia (Gilbert) Murphy, 95, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 16, 2018 at Jewish Healthcare Center surrounded by her loving family.
Predeceased by her husband, Robert P. Murphy in 2002, she leaves two children, Robert P. Murphy, Jr.of New Hampshire; and Carol Ann Wilcock of Connecticut; four grandchildren, Elizabeth and Catherine Ferris, both of Connecticut, Michael Murphy and his wife Dominique of New Hampshire, Mary Kate Murphy and her husband Pradeep Mammen of Massachusetts; great- grandchildren Jackson and Lincoln Murphy of New Hampshire and Simone Mammen of Massachusetts.
She was born in Andover, NH, daughter of Harry W. and Mabel (Taylor) Gilbert. After graduating high school, she moved to Worcester to attend Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing. Following graduation, Pat worked at the hospital until leaving to raise her family.
In her later years, she spent many hours learning the art of theorem painting and developing her skills as an artist..She was a member of St. Bernard's Church, City Hospital Alumni Association, the Historical Society of Early American Decoration, Inc. Nashoba Valley Chapter, Worcester Art Museum, and Tower Hill Botanical Garden.
A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Providence Parish 228 Lincoln St. Worcester. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
