Charlton
Helen Josephine (Emrick) Perron, 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Southbridge Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. Helen was born in Uxbridge, the daughter of the late Stephen and. Josephine (Galas) Emrick. She graduated from Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1946 as a Registered Nurse and worked initially as a Visiting Nurse and later at area hospitals. She lived in Worcester and Grafton for many years before moving to Charlton over 30 years ago. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Charlton and a member of the Charlton Garden Club.
Helen was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Wilfred E. Perron; two sisters, Mary Cognoni and Rose Carter; a brother Stephen Emrick and a grand-daughter Kim Perron.
She is survived by four children, Joanne Perron-Petrelli and her husband Bruce of Appomattox, VA., Denise Solodyna-Cammarata and her husband Jay of Blackstone, Kenneth Perron and his wife Barbara of Charlton, and Joseph Perron of Southbridge; five grandchildren, Dave and Chris Petrelli, Tom and Andy Solodyna and Louie Perron; six great grandchildren, Kathryn, Lauryn, Eryn, Brian, Brett and Travis; a brother, Albert Emrick and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass for Helen will be celebrated on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 10 AM at St. Joseph’s Church, 10 H-Putnam Rd., Ext., in Charlton, burial will be at a later date in Northside Cemetery in Charlton.
Calling Hours will be Thursday, March 22, 2018 from 5-7 PM at the ROBERT J. MILLER-CHARLTON FUNERAL HOME, 175 Old Worcester Rd.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helen’s name to: Hospice of Western and Central MA., 1325 Springfield St., Suite 12, Feeding Hills, MA. 01030 or any Visiting Nurses and Hospice Association of the donors choice.
