Theresa "Terry" (Wietecha) Cloutier

CHICOPEE – Theresa “Terry” (Wietecha) Cloutier, 80, of the Chicopee Falls section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, March 3, 2018. She passed into Eternal Life at her home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born at home in Chicopee on June 6, 1937, a beloved daughter of the late Stephen J. and Mary Rose (Bushey) Wietecha. She was raised in Chicopee, graduated in 1954 from Chicopee High School and was a lifelong resident of the city. She was employed for 41 years at Springfield College and retired in the position of Executive Secretary on May 11, 2011. Theresa enjoyed spending her leisure time knitting and crocheting. Active in her Catholic faith, she was a longtime communicant of Saint Patrick Church in Chicopee Falls where she was a Eucharistic Minister to her parish community. She currently was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Springfield. Above all, Theresa loved spending time with her family, her many friends and most especially her cherished granddaughters and great-grandsons. She leaves her beloved husband and best friend, Roland H. Cloutier. They were married at the Basilica of Saint Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr in Chicopee on August 18, 1956 and were blessed with over 61 years of happiness together. She also leaves her loving daughter, Michele M. Partyka and her husband, Peter, of Springfield; her two cherished granddaughters, Corinne R. Bongiovanni and her husband, Vincent, of Springfield and Katelyn M. “Katie” Partyka and her partner, Corey Boulay, of Salem, MA; her two cherished great-grandsons, Cristiano J. Bongiovanni and Mariano M. Bongiovanni; her dear sister, Jean Laurin and her husband, Richard, of Chicopee; her dear sister-in-law, Noella Gaydos of Chicopee; her dear brother-in-law, Raymond L. Cloutier of West Springfield; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Cloutier and Wietecha families. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her dear brother, John Wietecha and his wife, Margaret “Peggy” Wietecha. In addition, Terry also leaves a son, Arthur S. Cloutier and his wife, Lissa, of West Springfield. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday morning, March 7, 2018 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 395 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA 01104. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
