Obituary

Zachary Scott Bovee, 53 of Ojai, Ca, passed away at home on Sunday February 25,, 2018 after his 53 year earthly journey. He was born in San Luis Obispo, Ca. on February 15, 1965, while his parents Stephen and MaryEllen Bovee were attending Cal Poly for college. Zachary started his formal education at Dorothy Boswell school in Camarillo and Ventura where he loved his bus ride. His education was extended into the ARC program in both Ventura and Ojai. He enjoyed dancing, going to the movies, eating and eating. He participated in the Special Olympics. He was featured in several newpapers and magazines on cerebral palsy. Zachary is survived by his parents Stephen and MaryEllen Bovee, sister Julie Freeman Fischer (Tom), Brothers Sean Bovee, Jason Queen (Brooke). Nieces and Nephews: Amber (Randy), Sean, Jeff, Johnathan (Viridiana), Emma, Ashlyn, Madyson, Carson, Bella Jolie, John Eros, Kandi (Jacob), Payge, Shelly, Johnny, Will, Abbi, Lucas and Izzybelle. Zac was blessed with the most amazing caregiver for over 30 years Mike Fitzmaurice and then Jeff Freeman had lovingly taken care of him for his last 6 years. You might have seen them around the towns of Ojai or Ventura on the excursions that Zac loved so much. Zachary is preceded in death by his sister Shelly Bovee and her family Glenn Queen, Kenny & Wesley. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to ARC of Ojai 210 Canada St. Ojai, Ca 93023. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Livia from Tricounties Regional Center for always having Zac’s best interest at heart and to Corinthians Hospice for their love, guidance and comfort for Zac and the family. Funeral Mass and Celebration of Life will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 185 St Thomas Dr., Ojai, Ca 93023 on Friday April 13, 2018 with Fr. Ed Dover, Fr. Tom Verber and Fr. Peter Gelfer officiating. Rosary will begin at 5:30pm, Mass/Celebration at 6:00pm with dinner and ”the party” immediately following! Arrangements are under the care of JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 757 E. Main. Ventura.
