Christine T. Maroney (née Perry), 65, of Fall River, MA, passed away on February 15, 2018. She was the loving mother of Jessica Maroney Shillito, and the daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Pontes) Perry.
“Chris TM,” as she liked to be called, lived in Fall River, MA for most of her life. She enjoyed playing cards and board games, painting, traveling, watching television, transcendental meditation, and spending time with friends and family. A proud Vavo who was challenged with numerous health problems during the course of her life, Christine always trusted in God. She was a local inspiration and a ray of positivity to everyone who knew her.
Given Christine’s work to help found and lead the Southern MA scleroderma support group, the family asks that, instead of flowers, donations be made to the Scleroderma Foundation’s conference scholarship fund, which helps low-income people afflicted with the disease to attend the organization’s annual conference. Christine was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia A. Perry. She is survived by her daughter, Jessica, her son-in-law Nils Shillito, and her two grandchildren, Holden Perry and Cooper Lynn Shillito, all of Forest Hills, NY; by her sister, Mary (Perry) Paradise and her brother, John A. Perry, of Fall River, MA, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, February 21st, from 9:00 AM -10:45 AM at South Coast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River, MA 02723. A memorial mass then will be held at 11:00 AM at Saint Bernadette’s Parish, 529 Eastern Avenue, Fall River, MA 02723. Immediately following the service, the family will hold a buffet brunch in Christine’s honor at White’s of Westport, 66 State Road, Westport, MA 02790. All are welcome.
