MONSON – Henri Gaston Dallaire, 81, of Monson, was Called Safely Home on Monday, February 12, 2018. He passed into Eternal Life at home surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Packington, Province of Quebec, Canada on August 23, 1936, a beloved son of the late Wilfrid and Rose-Anna (Patoine) Dallaire. He was raised in Packington and settled in the North End section of Springfield in 1970. He later built his own home and moved to Monson in 1995 where he lived the remainder of his life. He was a logger and carpenter and worked for various construction companies. He later was the owner and operator of Dallaire and Sons Construction Company in Monson. Henri was a hard working man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He enjoyed snowmobiling, camping and biking. He was proud to have built his own home in Monson and his daughter’s homes next to his own. Known by many as a “tinkerpot”, there wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and his many friends. He leaves his beloved wife and best friend, Monique D. (Pelletier) Dallaire. They were married on August 20, 1960 in the Church of Sainte Rose in Degelis, P.Q., Canada and were blessed with over 57 years of happiness together. He also leaves his five loving children, Chantal Dallaire Keating and her husband, Matthew, of Monson, Sylvain Dallaire and his wife, Kelly, of Ware, and Manon Dallaire Murray and her husband, Kenneth, Dany Dallaire and Gino Dallaire, all of Monson; his two cherished grandsons, Cameron and Brett Keating; his three dear sisters and brother, Lucille Dallaire, Therese Nickner, Leonard Dallaire and Aline Dallaire, all of Province of Quebec, Canada; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Dallaire and Pelletier families. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his three dear brothers, Lionel, Armand and Fernand Dallaire; and his two dear sisters, Armande Fortin and Madeleine Fortin. His family will receive friends on Sunday, February 18, 2018 from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. which will be followed by a Prayer Service at 4:30 p.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107. His Burial will be private at the convenience of his family.
