Jeannine R. (Ledoux) Banville

CHICOPEE – Jeannine R. (Ledoux) Banville, 86, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Friday, February 9, 2018. She passed into Eternal Life at Wingate at West Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her wonderful caregivers. She was born in Springfield on December 13, 1931, the beloved daughter of the late Joseph F. and Emilia (Charland) Ledoux. She was raised in Chicopee, attended Chicopee schools and had lived in Chicopee for most of her life. She was employed by the City of Chicopee School Department for 44 years as a school aide and crossing guard and retired in March of 2010. She was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee where she also was a 50 year member of the Ladies of Saint Anne Sodality of the Church. She enjoyed playing cards at the Moose Family Center in Chicopee. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and her many friends. She leaves her beloved husband and best friend, Eugene A. Banville. They were married on May 26, 1951 at Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee and were blessed with over 66 years of happiness together. She also leaves her three loving children, Dennis E. Banville and his wife, Lugene, of Chicopee, Debra A. Slysz and her husband, Skip, of South Hadley and Donald R. Banville and his wife, Maricatheryn, of Chicopee; her four cherished grandchildren, Kyle D. Banville and his wife, Kim, Ryan A. Banville, Olivia R. Slysz and Emma L. Slysz; her cherished great-grandson, Nolan Banville; her dear brother-in-law, Raymond Banville of West Brookfield; her cherished goddaughter, Donna Fontaine of Chicopee; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Banville and Ledoux families. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her dear brother and sister-in-law, Joseph “Camille” Ledoux and his wife, Erline. Her family will receive friends on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. which will be followed by a Prayer Service at 4 p.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to Saint Joan of Arc School, 587 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
