Mrs. Inez M. (Corvo) O’Connell, a longtime resident of Medford and beloved wife of the late John J. O’Connell, passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose on Friday morning February 9th. She was 83 years old.
Born in Middletown, Connecticut, she was the beloved daughter of the late Rutilio C. and Concettina (Bonaccorsi) Corvo.
A communicant of St. Joseph Church, Inez enjoyed serving the parish, shopping, cooking for her family and watching her favorite TV shows. Above all, Inez was a very devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She was a lifetime member of Thursday Fortnightly Club of Medford and will be dearly missed by all.
Inez is survived by her loving children; John J., Jr. and his wife Patricia A. O’Connell of Palm City, Florida, Dr. Kevin F. and his wife Laurie K. O’Connell of Silver Spring, Maryland, Maura L. and her husband Dan M. Carroll Esq. of North Reading, David G. O’Connell of Los Angeles, California and Erin M. O’Connell and her wife Colleen M. Coyne of North Reading, brothers; Tony and his wife Nancy Corvo of Gaithersburg, Maryland, and the late Guy and Sal Corvo, grandchildren; Matthew, Melissa, Kaitlin, Hayley, Morgan, Ashley, Lindsey, Krista, Jack, Riley and Finn. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, February 12, 2018, from 4 to 7 PM. Interment will be held in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
