Obituary

AUBURN – Phyllis A. (Albrecht) Conroy, 90, passed peacefully at home on Monday, February 5, 2018, with her loving family by her bedside. Phyllis was born and raised in Auburn, a daughter of the late Charles H. and Hazel T. (McCullough) Albrecht. She has called Auburn home her entire life.
During her younger years, with Phyllis playing the violin and her sisters, Barbara on the piano and Alleyne playing the saxophone, family guests were entertained in their home. Neighbors and friends also would invite the trio to entertain at their homes.
Phyllis graduated from Auburn High School and then began working for the former New England Telephone and Telegraph. She soon met the loved of her life, Frederick Conroy and the two were married in 1947. Summers were enjoyed at Cape Cod and Webster Lake. She would often spend summer afternoons sporting around in one of her many convertibles, visiting family and friends, especially her lifelong friends, Alice and Gus Carlson.
Phyllis enjoyed her employment at the former Tie Corner in the Auburn Mall, and later hers was the smiling face to greet you with your morning coffee and newspaper at Holly Farms in Webster.
She will be forever lovingly missed by her five children, Linda Pratt, Jerry Conroy and his wife, Leona, Sheila Conroy and Gary Conroy and his wife, Donna and Jaye Coderre; her eight grandchildren, Lisa Carpenter, Jill and Erin Pratt, Holly Poirier, Elizabeth (Conroy) Narciso, Whitney Conroy, Kimberly (Conroy) Perkins and Felicia (Conroy) Waggoner; her ten great grandchildren, Nicholas and Alexa Fernandez, Owyn Law, Ava, John and Olivia Narciso, Jacob and Evelyn Waggoner and Brian and Erin Carpenter; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, Fred, Phyllis was predeceased by her two sisters, Barbara Albrecht and Alleyne Foley.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Life Celebration graveside prayer service on Friday, February 9, at 10:30 am in Hope Cemetery, (Section 104), Hope Avenue, Worcester. A reception will follow at Chuck's Steakhouse in Auburn at 11:30 a.m.
