CHICOPEE – Emile R. Barree, 86, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, January 31, 2018. He passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born and raised in Chicopee and had lived in Clearwater, Florida for many years before returning to Chicopee in 2015. He served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army and attained the rank of Corporal. He received the Korean Service Medal with One Bronze Service Star, the United Nations Service and the National Defense Service Medals and the Combat Infantry Badge. He loved spending time with his family and his many friends. He leaves his beloved wife and best friend of 41 years, Estelle M. (Hosmer) Barree; his two dear daughters, Joanne Collins and her husband, David, of Southampton and Pam Saracino and her husband, Donni, of Tucson, AZ; Estelle’s five beloved children, Denise Forgue and her husband, Robert, of Southwick, Roger Dutilly and his wife, Barbara, of Somerset, KY, Robert Dutilly and his wife, Michele, of Chicopee, Debra Rollend and her husband, Pete, of Wilbraham and Michelle Dutilly of Springfield; his many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his dear brother, Norman Barree of Chicopee; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Barree and Hosmer families. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Linda Barree; his two dear brothers, Rosario and Joseph; and his four dear sisters, Irene, Cecile, Rita and Theresa. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His Burial with United States Army Military Honors will follow the Mass at Oak Grove Cemetery, 426 Bay Street, Springfield, MA 01109.
