Obituary

Mr. Michael James Phillips, a lifelong resident of Medford and beloved son of Deborah J. Phillips, passed away, suddenly on Sunday, at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose. He was 32 years old.

Michael was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on October 27, 1985. He had attended U Mass Boston. Michael worked as a Substance Abuse Councilor at Massachusetts General Hospital for several years. He also co-founded Medford Overcoming Addiction in 2015. He was instrumental in having the Medford Police Department to have their officers carry Narcan.

In his spare time Michael loved being with children and was a Nike sneaker fanatic. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Besides his loving mother, Deborah, he is survived by his loving uncle James K. Phillips, aunt Robbyn Toubekis, her husband Nick Toubekis & cousin Costa Toubekis

He was the beloved grandson of Nana (Dorothy) & Papa (John) Phillips – who loved him dearly.

His Funeral Service will be held in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Thursday, January 18, 2018, at 7 PM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday in the funeral home, prior to the service, from 4 to 7 PM. Interment will be privately held at a later date.
