Albert V. Powers, Sr. age 80 of Sandwich, formerly of Canton passed away at home January 13th surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Canton, he graduated from St. John’s School and was a lifelong resident of Canton before moving to Sandwich in 1998. He previously worked at the Quincy Shipyard and more recently was the Maintenance Director at Blue Hill Regional School in Canton for many years before retiring. He enjoyed golf and was a member of the Sharon Country Club and loved to travel to Disney World every year with his wife. After retiring he enjoyed building wooden bird houses for his family.
Beloved husband of Barbara (Cataldo). Father of Albert V. Powers, Jr. and his wife Maureen of Chesterfield, NH, Gary Powers and his wife Michelle of Canton and Cheryl Paul and her husband Tim of Sandwich. Brother of Mary Powers and Carroll Kodis both of Canton. Also survived by 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral service at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Friday morning at 11. Visiting hours Thursday 4-7 pm. Burial private.
