PETERSEN, Carol A. (VanTyne), of Winthrop, passed away on January 9, 2018. She was 83 years old. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter A. Petersen Jr. Devoted mother of Walter A. “Skip” Petersen III and his wife Rosie of Lynnfield, Sally J. Fiandaca of Revere, Debby M. Fuller and her late husband Jim of Tewksbury, Timothy M. Petersen and his wife Sandra of East Boston, Kevin G. Petersen of Tewksbury and Kelly J. McKinnon and her husband Kevin of Winthrop. Adored grandmother of 12 and great-grandmother of 4. Born in Winthrop, she was the cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Virginia (Walker) VanTyne. Dear sister of Kenneth VanTyne of Revere and the late Buddy VanTyne and Marjorie Babcock. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held in the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home 210 Winthrop St. WINTHROP on Fri, January 12, from 9:00am to 11:00am. A Funeral Mass will follow in St. John the Evangelist Church-Winthrop at 11:30am. Relatives and friends are invited. Interment will follow in Winthrop Cemetery (Bell Isle Section).
