Grace “Melodie” (Arrighi) Stanton, age 79 of N. Easton, died December 22, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center. Melodie was born and raised in Brockton, a daughter of the late Valerie (Potter) Emerson and Rudolph Arrighi and had been a resident of N. Easton for over 60 years.
A 1956 graduate of Brockton High School, Melodie had been an administrative assistant/project manager at AmeriCom, Douglas King and Mirrione Construction and worked at Especially Yours Florist for many years. She will be remembered for her incredible cursive penmanship which certainly was an indication of her artistic abilities. She was a member of the Easton Garden Club and enjoyed gardening and floral arranging. She was also well known for her points of view she shared within her letters to the editor of the Brockton Enterprise. Melodie was an avid reader who enjoyed debating politics and solving crossword puzzles. She loved to cook and spend time with her family and friends. She will be remembered as a loving woman who always greeted you with a hug and had a great sense of humor.
Melodie was the mother of Toni Stanton of New York, NY and sister of Meredith Fitzmaurice Malone and her husband James of Middleboro and Ray Emerson, III and his wife Kathy of Georgia. Step-sister of Elizabeth “Betty” Cobb and her husband Roger of Florida. She was the former wife of the late Paul D. Stanton. She also leaves her nieces and nephews George Fitzmaurice, Jr. and his wife Dianne, Dennis Fitzmaurice and his wife Julie, Erin Minichiello and her husband Mark, Ray “Jay” Emerson IV, Christine Emerson, and Richard and Cassandra Garis and her grand nieces and nephews Rachel, Jack, Jenna, Joshua, Justin and Juliana Fitzmaurice, Brenna Norton and Ethan and Lauren Minichiello.
A celebration of Melodie’s life will be held at the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton on Sunday, January 28, from 10am to 12noon followed by a funeral service at 12noon.
