South Grafton: Ruth A. (Bernier) Bernart, 83, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2017 in St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. She leaves a daughter Denise and her husband James Martinelli of Grafton; 5 grandchildren- Sarah and her wife Danielle Hall of Worcester, David and his wife Kate Hall of Barre, Matthew and his wife Christina Hall of Paxton, Tiffany Hall and her fiance Randy Morin Jr. of Oxford, and Jenna Hall and her fiance Doug Farrar of Worcester; 3 great grandchildren- Gabrielle, Bailey, and Benjamin Hall; 2 brothers; and several nieces and nephews.
Ruth was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Edward Arthur and Mildred (Taillon) Bernier. She graduated from Commerce High School and worked for many years as a hairdresser at the Notre Dame Long Term Care facility in Worcester. She was very talented in the arts and enjoyed sewing, photography, and was a skilled artist. She also enjoyed going to the beach and spending time with her family. As a young woman, she published a Christian newspaper.
A memorial calling hour will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 10-11 a.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery in Hudson. Flowers may be sent of donations in Ruth's memory may be made to the MSPCA.
