Mary P. (O’Neill) Arnold, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2017.
She was the daughter of the late Hugh and Evelyn (Metcalf) O’Neill, was born on December 8, 1951 in Astoria, New York. She grew up in Jamaica, Queens and later moved to Wallingford, Connecticut with husband Gary and daughter Mary Evelyn. She has lived in Charlton since 2004.
Mary graduated from St. John’s University and worked for the Defense Contract Audit Agency, retiring in 2012. She received many awards for her work and developed many lasting friendships. Mary loved spending time with her family, especially her five grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Gary R. Arnold; daughter Mary Evelyn and her husband Adam Wisnieski of Wethersfield, CT; step-son Jesse Arnold and his wife Jennifer of Portland, Ct; step-son Jeremy Arnold and his wife Laura of Scotch Plains, NJ; grandchildren, Leah, Lily, Theo, Alex and Joey; brother Hugh O’Neill and his wife Kimberlee of Chapel Hill, NC; brother Matthew O’Neill of Stuart, FL; sister Margaret O’Neill of Charlotte, NC; brother James O’Neill of Sacramento, CA; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of Mary’s life will be Friday, December 22, 2017 from 10am to 12 noon at the ROBERT J. MILLER-CHARLTON FUNERAL HOME, 175 Old Worcester Rd, Charlton. The family will be celebrating Mary’s loving life at the Public House Restaurant in Sturbridge, MA. after the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Association, 260 West Exchange St., Suite 102B, Providence, R.I. 02903-1000.
