MAHONY, Mary D. “Betty” (Landry) of Hingham, formerly of West Roxbury, December 15th, 2017. Beloved wife of the late James J. Mahony. Devoted mother of John and his wife Deborah, Thomas and his wife Cynthia and James and his wife Lisa. Cherished grandmother of Evelyn Marie Mulcahy and her husband John Todd, John Francis, Rebecca Anne, Holly Elizabeth and Michael James. Great-grandmother of Bettina Marie, James and Michaela Marie. She was the loving daughter of the late Walter J. and Mary F. (Cronin). Betty was the sister of the late Walter Landry. Betty was a long-time volunteer for many organizations including especially the Boston Public Schools, St. Theresa’s Church, The Boy Scouts of America, and Faulkner Hospital. Her vocation was as a painter in oils. She was a founding member of the West Roxbury Art Association. Her paintings have added a personal touch to many schools, churches, public buildings and homes in the area. Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home 2055 Centre St. WEST ROXBURY on Friday, December 22nd at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Theresa Chapel at 11:30 a.m. Visiting hours Thursday, December 21st from 6-8 p.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment Blue Hills Cemetery, Braintree.
