William “Bill” Batchman 64 years old born in San Diego, California to Bob and Barbara Batchman who met in the Naval Academy, passed away on November 19th at the West Roxbury VA Hospital after lengthy battle with illness. Bill was raised in Marshfield where he graduated from Marshfield High School and subsequently joined the navy. He worked as a chef most of his adult life after being discharged from the US Navy in 1974. Most recently he was an active volunteer at the Brockton VA Hospital which he found extremely rewarding. Bill is survived by his father Bob Batchman of Hudson, FL, his 2 sisters Brenda Stazinski of Walpole and Cynthia Farley of Foxboro, his 2 brothers Charles of Weymouth and Bob of Mansfield, as well as his 5 nephews and 1 niece. A small service for Bill will be held at The Brockton VA Hospital Chapel behind the main Hospital on November 28th at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Veterans Homefront.
