BYRD - Peggy L. Byrd, 82, of Yulee, passed away Sunday morning, November 19, 2017 at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville.
Mrs. Byrd was born August 11, 1935 in Clarksburg, WV and moved to Yulee in 1954.
She loved sewing, crocheting, camping and fishing. She also enjoyed canning and making pickles. Mrs. Byrd loved watching her grandchildren play and listening to the stories they would tell her. She was employed by Kangaroo stores for 23 years and was of the Baptist faith.
She was predeceased by her husband, Franklin Eugene Byrd who passed away September 5, 2017. Also preceding her in death were her were her parents, Ernest and Catherine Setzer; her brother, Charles Ernest Setzer and a grandson, Chad Lang.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Robin Sawyer (Hoyet) of Yulee, FL and Lenna Jennine Byrd (Marvin) of Jacksonville, FL; a brother, Everett Setzer of Yulee, FL; three sisters, Ethel Yancy of Orlando, FL, Carol Estes (Charles) of Yulee, FL and Linda Lawrence (Jerry) of Iowa City, IO; two grandchidlren, Mika Sawyer (Becky) and Mark Sawyer (Megan); four great grandchildren, Shelby Sawyer, Maci Sawyer, Reese Sawyer and Madison Lang; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 15, at Blackrock Baptist Church with Rev. John Kasper officiating.
