Robert F. “Rotton” Connell, age 72, of Attleboro, formerly of Brockton passed away, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, November 18, 2017.
Born in Quincy, MA on June 26, 1945, he was a loving son of the late Edward D. and Mary M. (Wilson) Connell.
He grew up and was educated in Hingham, and during the Vietnam War, proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army.
Prior to retiring “Rotton” had been employed for many years as a truck driver. He had made his home in Attleboro for the past fifteen years and was a Life Member of the DAV.
He is survived by his loving and devoted children Lori A. George and her husband Thomas of Norton, Ed R. Connell and his wife Nicole of Attleboro, and Rich F. Connell and his wife Shannon of Norton. He was the cherished and adoring grandfather of Troy, Aiden, Trent, Amanda, Kate, Eddie and Quinn, and is also survived by loyal and best friend “Shelby” and his former wife Donna (Benjamin) Connell
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a service in celebration of his life on Sunday, November 26th from 3:00-6:00 P.M. at The Home Plate, 1094 Bay Street in Taunton.
Visiting hours have been omitted and burial will be held privately at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St., Norton.
